What’s in Store: Georgetown Carnival Arts Festival feat. Peter Bagge

Join us at Fantagraphics Bookstore this Saturday, June 8 as we celebrate the Book of Weirdo with Peter Bagge, one time editor of R. Crumb’s influential comix anthology. We’ll display original art and ephemera from the groundbreaking periodical. Bagge will be present to sign copies of this and other recent publications from 4:00 to 6:00 PM.   The 13th annual Georgetown Carnival arts festival on Saturday, June 9 offers a spectacular array of attractions in Seattle’s historic Airport Way S business corridor, featuring an exhibition by legendary photographer Jini Dellaccio at Fantgraphics Bookstore of music icons of the sixties, including vintage prints created in the late artist’s darkroom. Dellaccio documented Northwest proto-punk garage acts like the Sonics, Wailers, Paul Revere and the Raiders, and Buffalo Springfield, as well as touring bands like the Rolling Stones, the Who, Mitch Ryder, Yardbirds, among many others. Step right up the 12th annual Georgetown Carnival on Saturday, June 10 from noon to 10:00 PM. This colorful community arts festival celebrates the creative diversity Seattle’s oldest neighborhood.
