Daniel Clowes at Meltdown Comics
May, 14 2015 – Daniel Clowes will be at making his first Los Angeles appearance in several years at Meltdown Comics on June 5th to celebrate the release of The Complete Eightball, a two-volume collection of the influential and iconic comic book series, from Fantagraphics Books. On Friday, June 5th, from 6-10 PM, Meltdown will be opening its Los Angeles doors to fans new and decades strong for a night complete with prizes, a book signing, costume contest, and an interview between Clowes and Mark Frauenfelder from Boing Boing. Entry will be free with the purchase of Eightball

An event I feel like I have to shout from the rooftops, because that’s how over the top this week gets. We’ll be in full crazy mode bringing you special guests, books, smiling faces, and lots and lots of empty iced coffee cups. Touted as one of the best comic conventions in the country, Heroes Con will be welcoming a fantastic lineup of creators and guests. Among those include: Chuck Forsman, Benjamin Marra, Ed Piskor, and Rich Tommaso. We won’t be tabling, but you’ll definitely find our books among these tables.
London: Wuvable Oaf at Gosh! Comics
The celebration of the Wuvable release continues! On June 13th catch Ed Luce in London at Gosh! comics for a signing and special talk on his fan favorite series.
Yogi Berra Museum: Casey at the Bat
A performance of Casey at the Bat, one of America’s best-loved and famous poems, performed by Tim Wiles, who has reenacted the Ernest Thayer tale over 2,000 times. Copies of Willard Mullin’s “Casey at the Bat And Other Diamond Tales,” an elegant children’s version by the legendary cartoonist, will be available for purchase. Performance at 1 p.m., one hour prior to the New Jersey Jackals game.
San Francisco: Josh Simmons Black River Tour
Making his way up the California coast, Josh Simmons heads to Mission: Comics and Art in San Francisco, Posters, books, and signatures can all be yours!
Los Angeles: Josh Simmons Black River Tour
Finally headed back West, Josh Simmons will be hitting up Secret Headquarters for an in-store signing of Black River with special guest Sammy Harkham (Crickets)
CAKE
All this weekend! Fantagraphics will be kicking it Chicago style at CAKE, or Chicago Alternative Comics Expo. More special guests than you can shake a stick at, and a bunch of them stopping by the Fantagraphics booth to sign your books!
