Photographer and Writer Seth Kushner Passes Away
We at Fantagraphics offer our deepest condolences to the family of Seth Kushner, who passed away on May 17th, 2015. Seth was a deeply talented and inspirational photographer, writer and friend of comics who was able to capture a depth and creativity through his portraiture that few could. Best illustrated through the collaborative book, Leaping Tall Buildings: The Origin of American Comics, Kushner told an evocative story of his subjects like Jaime Hernandez, Peter Bagge, and Dash Shaw through his photography. Daniel Clowes at Meltdown Comics
May, 14 2015 – Daniel Clowes will be at making his first Los Angeles appearance in several years at Meltdown Comics on June 5th to celebrate the release of The Complete Eightball, a two-volume collection of the influential and iconic comic book series, from Fantagraphics Books. On Friday, June 5th, from 6-10 PM, Meltdown will be opening its Los Angeles doors to fans new and decades strong for a night complete with prizes, a book signing, costume contest, and an interview between Clowes and Mark Frauenfelder from Boing Boing.
