We at Fantagraphics offer our deepest condolences to the family of Seth Kushner, who passed away on May 17th, 2015. Seth was a deeply talented and inspirational photographer, writer and friend of comics who was able to capture a depth and creativity through his portraiture that few could. Best illustrated through the collaborative book, Leaping Tall Buildings: The Origin of American Comics, Kushner told an evocative story of his subjects like Jaime Hernandez, Peter Bagge, and Dash Shaw through his photography. He is also the co-creator of online publications like Trip City, and Graphic NYC, and numerous other projects.
After a long battle with leukemia and cancer, we say goodbye to a great talent who touched and inspired more people than he will probably ever know.
Seth is survived by his wife Terra, and son Jackson.
