Each year the Vera Project invites you to bring in a piece of clothing and they'll show you how to do a quick screenprint of a one-off logo for $5. There will be a number of designers/illustrators contributing and you can screen a tshirt or, say, a baby onesie. Babies love custom screenprinted onesies. Case in point: Freya Blue Covey, shown here. Lookit how happy she is with hers! I've contributed designs for five years running because I think it's a great event. (Bonus: Last year had a Steven Weissman piece that might still be floating around the room down…
TONIGHT!
I just noticed that the clip reel at Mirari Films has some previews of upcoming Drinky Crow Show episodes and it looks like they're just going to get better. (Also shows a little of the Buddy Bradley animation they did.) Also, if you don't have cable I understand that each week they stream the shows on the Adult Swim Website.
BEASTS! Print Show: MAHLER
Freshly arrived Nicolas Mahler Palesmurt screenprint for the Dec. 13th BEASTS! print show. Only five of these are available on this continent. (Note that this is not the art that appears in the book… It's bonus Mahler!)

Maakies fans, let us unite to make Tony Millionaire rich! We all know that comics don't pay well but cartoons do: Tell everyone to watch the premiere of the official Drinky Crow Show series on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim programming. It debuts in just two weeks, so open a beer and hit those message boards! To make it easier for you, here are some ad banner thingies to post around. Tony will appreciate it, I assure you. By the way, I suspect that 12:15 am on Sunday actually means Saturday night. Sunday at 12:15 means Sunday night. Monday morning if…

Obama. Obama. Obama.
Thank you Boing Boing for this link to Lee Dorsey's inspirational R&B hit "Yes We Can" perfectly remixed with the oratory of Mr. Barack Obama. What if the derailed idealism of the 1960s could be put back on track and into public office? What if rhetoric wasn't just impressive but sincere and we didn't guard ourselves against it? What if leaders could be as smart and compassionate as you and I, not just serpents going lower than we're willing to? There's nothing wrong with well-placed HOPE. Please vote Tuesday. Even here at Fantagraphics some of us are really excited about–…
Beasts2 Scoop for Halloween.
Happy Halloween! The fine folks at WIRED magazine have leaked all the details about the content of the upcoming Beasts! Book Two. And thank you Scott Thill for getting all the facts right.
BEASTS! 2 preview: A.J. Fosik
The Weretiger of Asia is one of many shape-shifters known to the world. (It seems there are nearly as many shape-shifting forms reported as there are known varieties of animals.) Like the Werewolf, there are many cultural explanations for why humans transform into these feline man-beasts, but most commonly it is supposed to be due to a curse or as a consequence of mixing genetic material. This mixing of material may be the unavoidable result of an animal's violent attack on a victim or, avoidably, through a person's unnatural indescretions with an animal. A.J. Fosik is a unique artist rooted…
