Drop by Fantagraphics Bookstore & Gallery this Saturday, June 25 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM as Tatiana Gill hosts a clown coloring contest from her new book Down to Clown. We’ll have cool prizes and free corn dogs, cotton candy, caramel corn, and more! All entries will be exhibited through July 7.

An added attraction at the Hot Off the Press book fair on July 9 is a rare show by seminal Seattle punk band Chinas Comidas led by literary artist Cynthia Genser, who will also give a spoken word performance. The band will play new material from their Songbook 2016 EP. Peruse tables of handcrafted comics, prints, and zines from Pity Party, Fogland Studios, Yeti Press, Short Run Micropress, Neoglyphic Media, and over a dozen local artists. Meet Sammy Harkham, creator of Crickets and the acclaimed Kramer’s Ergot anthology. Say goodbye to cartoonist Josh Simmons, who is moving to Portland, so we’ll never, ever see him again.  We’ll also wish a fond farewell to our beloved Intruder, celebrating their final issue with an art exhibition, back issue giveaway, and rockin’ after-party across the street at Machine House Brewing. This event coincides with the festive Georgetown Art Attack featuring art, music, and more all over the historic arts community. The fun starts at 5:00 PM on Saturday, July 9 at Fantagraphics Bookstore, located at 1201 S. Vale Street, only minutes south of downtown Seattle. Open daily 11:30 to 8:00 PM, Sundays until 5:00 PM. Phone 206-658-0110. See you all soon.
