A few words from our publisher on the passing of Stephen Dixon:
“In addition to publishing comics, graphic novels, and books of various graphic works and paintings, all visual media you may have noticed, we publish the occasional literary prose. Stephen Dixon was not just one of our few prose authors, but a towering figure of American letters, a designation he would’ve considered pretentious, but true nonetheless. We published four of his books, two collections of short stories, most recently Writing, Written in 2019, and two novels, including what I consider his magnum opus, a crowning career achievement of epic —and intimate— proportions. He was also, in all my dealings with him, personally and professionally, a man of uncommon generosity and decency, someone who made me feel like a comrade in arms. A great, humane voice is no longer with us, but his books remain, and I urge anyone who cares about the force of art to seek them out.”
