Degen's surrealist superhero adventure MIGHTY STAR AND THE CASTLE OF THE CANCATERVATER (Koyama Press), equal parts Dalí and Astro Boy, Degen's mostly silent narrative is both metaphysical and mighty; Blaise Larmee's 3 BOOKS (2D Cloud) is an eclectic and meticulously crafted reproduction of rare and unpublished books; Émilie Gleason's SALZ & PFEFFER (2D Cloud) a taboo-soaked world of the inane and the intellectual, the profane, profound, and parodic; Andy Burkholder's QVIET (2D Cloud) focuses on the abstractions of sex, of seeing, and the fluid relations between the two.
