Texas-born artist Jim Blanchard has lived all across the U.S.A. and in Norway. From 1982–1988, he edited and published the punk zine Blatch. In 1987, he moved to Seattle, Washington, where he’s been an illustrator, cartoonist, and designer. He now lives in Bellingham with his wife Diana and dog Henry. Comix Revolution welcomes Evanston resident Emil Ferris as she signs copies of My Favorite Thing Is Monsters, her bestselling debut graphic novel set in 1960s Chicago that became an instant publishing sensation when released this winter. Join visual artist Jim Blanchard for an art show opening and book signing at Floating World Comics in Portland! Featured works on display are found in his latest book, Visual Abuse, a collection work starting with ephemera from Blanchard's influential art during the Seattle grunge era, to hyper-psychedelic and complex fine art pieces.
