Fantagraphics Bookstore & Gallery is pleased to welcome two exceptional cartoonists on Saturday, June 13 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. Brooklyn-based artist Koren Shadmi will join Seattle cartoonist and educator Greg Stump presenting new works. This event coincides with the 10th annual Georgetown Carnival featuring art, music and more throughout the historic arts community.
Seattle cartoonist Greg Stump will present an exhibition of original drawings and sign copies of his new graphic novel Disillusioned Allusions from Fantagraphics Underground. The book involves a clever conversation among optical illusions. Brooklyn based artist Koren Shadmi will present his new book Mike’s Place from Macmillan’s adventurous First Second imprint. This compelling narrative chronicles the bombing of a cosmopolitan Tel Aviv nightclub and its aftermath.
This event coincides with the Georgetown Carnival, a festive celebration of the creativity diversity of Seattle’s oldest neighborhood on Saturday, June 13 from noon to 10:00 PM. Four stages of music (including the Tom Price Desert Classic feat. Martin Bland), three beer gardens, interactive arts, acrobats, carnival games, confections, crafts, sideshows, burlesque, Duwamish tribal dancers, stilt walkers, and spontaneous spectacles all day long. A highlight of the festival is Hazardfactory’s delightful Power Tool Races. Don’t miss the Drinky Crow-driven entry from Fantagraphics Bookstore. Free fun for all ages all day long.
