What’s in Store: A Sensational Spring at Fantagraphics Bookstore

Make plans to attend the many engaging events at Fantagraphics Bookstore & Gallery in the coming weeks and months.

On Saturday, March 3 at 7:00 PM we welcome back Jamie Hernandez, one of the masters of contemporary comix. Join us for a casual reception and book signing following the Emerald City Comicon.

   

A week later on Saturday, Mach 10, 6:00 to 9:00 PM Jonathan Evison reads from the 10th anniversary edition of his debut novel All About Lulu, winner of the Washington Sate Book Award in 2008. He has since gone on to a stellar career of bestselling books including West of Here, The Revised Fundamentals of Caregiving (adapted to a Nexflix original film starring Paul Rudd and Selena Gomez), and This is Your Life Harriet Chance! Evison will be joined by Berlin musician Mary Ocher performing songs from her new album, The West Against the People, produced by Krautrock icon Hans Joachim Irmler of Faust. On display will be an exhibition of prints by Wallace Wood.

On Saturday, April 14, 6:00 to 9:00 PM features original art by Josh Simmons and friends from his recent short story collection Flayed Corpse.

     

Don’t miss Ellen Forney on Saturday, May 5 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM for an exhibition and book signing from her new graphic memoir Rock Steady. Pick up a copy of Fantagraphics Free Comic Book Day sampler while you’re at it.

The bookstore hosts an exhibition of photographs of Northwest garage, folk, and psychedelic bands of the 1960s by the late Jini Dellaccio on Saturday, June 9 from 11:30 to 9:00 PM with music from legendary Seattle psychedelic folk band the Daily Flash (in association with the Georgetown Carnival arts festival.)
