What’s in Store: Record Store Day & Independent Bookstore Day

Record Store Day is Saturday, April 13. Georgetown Records will be recording and lathe-cutting vinyl records on site! We’ll have a guitar on hand, so time permitting, you can make your own record and take it with you. Visiting artist Leela Corman has kindly consented to grace us with a song. Plus complimentary beverages, Charles Glaubitz exhibition and signing, Starseeds hot sauce tasting, and the Georgetown Art Attack! This Saturday, 6:00 to 9:00 PM. Free!

Celebrate brick and mortar booksellers on Seattle Independent Bookstore Day, Saturday, April 27. Fantagraphics Bookstore will be open from 11:00 to 8:00 PM and from 1:00 to 3:00 PM, Rory Frances and Jae Bearhat will sign copies of Little Teeth, an amusing and perceptive comic about a fictional queer community in the Pacific Northwest from indie publisher Czap Books.

On Independent Bookstore Day, official passports are available at every participating Seattle-area store. Passports include a map and list of participating stores with address and contact information. When you visit each store on April 27, get your passport stamped, and turn in your passport at your last stop of the day. If you visit three or more stores, you’ll get a 30% coupon, good for a one-time use at any participating store. If your passport has stamps from all 21 stores, we’ll invite you to our Grand Champions party and give you a card good for a 25% discount at all participating stores for the whole year.
