TULSA: Tim Lane and The Lonesome Go Release Party

The Lonesome GO
Tim Lane is heading over a little past Route 66 to celebrate his newest collection of comics, The Lonesome Go. On Sunday, October 19th from 3-5pm at The Phoenix, the best local coffeeshop-bar-bookstore with a private library room, Lane will be signing comics and a little bit more!
Lonesome Go box
Lane has been building up Lonesome Go boxes from antique suitcases and folios. Each one is different since they were all from thrift or antique stores. And inside, my oh my, are prints, comics, and recordings by Tim Lane and more. All the ephemera and contents reflect the sultry and dusty portrait of Americana that Lane has created in his comics Happy Hour in America, Abandoned Cars and now, Lonesome Go. Whether you're a grifter on the move, a train-hopping honey or just man in a bar with three fingers of whiskey instead of two, this collection is for you. Jackie's Blues
Lane will also be doing some recording at The Phoenix for any musician or singer with a love for old Americana and an itch to perform should head over to The Phoenix. Lane's collecting different versions of the same song "Jackie's Blue" (the lyrics of which are in The Lonesome Go) performed & recorded by a variety of musicians to include in the box set. This is open to anybody who wants to contribute a version. So bring your uke, your bango or your kazoo along with your Tim Lane comics and head over to The Phoenix!
