Seattle, WA – Seattle.Loves.Books. We love books so much that we have convened a special committee called the Seattle City of Literature that is working towards our current bid to be deemed a UNESCO City of Literature, where we will all recieve crowns and dominion over libraries. But until that day, you can reign over your local bookstore and help us celebrate all the amazing independent publishers that call Seattle home by stoping by the University Bookstore for the first ever Holiday Book Bazaar.
Fantagraphics will be joined by Copper Canyon Press, Chin Music Press, Wave Books, The Mountaineers Books, and The University of Washington Press, and we're all getting full-on holiday spirit this Saturday in the U-District. In addition to publisher specific tables set up throughout the store being wo/manned to give you personalized gift recommendations, there is the following: sweet treats, delicious drinks, gorgeous gift wraping, and righteous raffles. Seattle City of Literature sponsors will also be on hand to discuss and answer questions about why being a city of gormandizing readers is good for everyone.
And we're bringing our own special guest, Peter Bagge! He'll be signing books are giving a visual reading from Buddy Buys a Dump at 1:30 pm
No last minute gifts here; get the best funny pages for your favorite reader this Saturday from 1:00 – 4:00 pm at the University Bookstore. It's FREE, Stranger Suggested, and snacks.
