Blecky Yuckerella by Johnny Ryan – the final strip

Sure, she’s smelly and gross, but she’s got a heart of gold! Blecky Yuckerella and her disgusting pals star in this weekly four-panel gag strip, as seen in the pages of the Portland Mercury and Vice magazine (and her very own collections from Fantagraphics Books, of course). Blecky’s final strip ran on July 30, 2010. Visit Johnny’s website for past weeks’ strips, plus information on buying original Blecky art. The final Blecky collection, FUC- –U, -SS –LE, comes out in December 2010/January 2011. {mosimage} Blecky Books (and more) by Johnny Ryan (click covers for complete product details): {product_snapshot:id=144,true,false,true,left} {product_snapshot:id=143,true,false,true,left} {product_snapshot:id=1523,true,false,true,left}…

Above, Peter and Carol pose with their trophies; Moto didn't bring her trophy to her signings, so if anyone has photos of her receiving or holding the award, we'd love to see them! Update: found at Comicsgirl!

What Comic-Con Means To Me

I've gone as a child, an adult, a fan, a retailer representative, a journalist, a publicist, and a publisher….

Comic-Con Day 3 Part 2: Peter Bagge, Dame Darcy & Tony Millionaire

We packed three powerhouses of alternative comics behind one table and the result was one of our busiest signings in a week full of busy signings! Peter Bagge was kept busy by a long line of fans requesting sketches of Bizarro, Buddy Bradley and so on: He also used the occiasion to debut his band's new CD! Dame Darcy brought along her usual assortment of lovely couture dolls and other merch: Poor Tony Millionaire got lost in the convention hall for a while but quickly settled in for a brisk round of signatures and Drinky Crow sketches: Tony was joined…
