Here are the last of the Krazy Kat strips drawn by seven-to-eleven-year old Italian kids, courtesy of their teacher Alessandro Santi. (See previous FLOG!s for batches one, two and three; see the entire set in a slideshow on Flickr.) Incidentally, Alessandro asked us if we were going to reprint the Eclipse volumes featuring the first nine years of Krazy Kat Sundays, and the answer to that is yes, starting in 2009. But we're going to gang them together into three big KK volumes, each containing three years' worth.
The great Al Jaffee
The New York Times had a great feature yesterday on one of America's greatest living cartoonists, the inimitable Al Jaffee.

Magik Show in PDX
The Magik Show opens this Thursday (April 3) at the Pony Club Gallery in Portland, OR. This show is the first to be curated by Zack Soto and it's a pretty great line-up of mostly comics folks. "Stereotopfer" (his gocco prints above) has conveniently listed and linked all the artists on his Flickr page. I found a few other pieces online: Mike Bertino, Calvin Wong, and Jason Miles.
Sketchbook #2
#2 in a series. This is the most recent entry in my almost decade-old book, by Drew Friedman:
Patrick Rosenkranz interview
Tom Spurgeon has a great interview up today with Rebel Visions author Patrick Rosenkranz. If you have the slightest interest in underground comix, read this interview.
Sketchbook #1
The first in series. I'm gonna post a page from my 'con' sketchbook approximately every day until I'm done (it'll take a few months). I hope this doesn't seem too self-serving, I'm really thinking some of you will enjoy these. And this way if my house ever burns down they will live on. Here's the very first, by Daniel Clowes:
The greatest Herriman tributes ever (part three)
Here are still more Krazy Kat strips drawn by seven-to-eleven-year old Italian kids, courtesy of their teacher Alessandro Santi. (See previous FLOG!s for batches one and two.) Last batch to come tomorrow. Incidentally, Jeet Heer and Michael Tisserand just turned in their introduction to the final collection of Krazy Kat Sundays, scheduled for release this Fall. It chronicles the last few years of Herriman's life, and it's a terrific (if sad) read.

And now the pièce de résistance, found in Gary Groth's office: Wait for it… We shit you not.
