NYC: Lucy Knisley at The Strand

Lucy Knisley
There are still dinners to stretch your pants, holidays songs to sing, brightly lit-balls to drop but that doesn't mean you can't start planning parties for next year! On Monday, January 12th in the sparkling new year of 2015, cartoonist Lucy Knisley will be throwing one hell of a new year for a new book, Displacement, at The Strand in New York City. Lucy's last travelogue, An Age of License, featured the whimsical travels of a 20-something with time stretching infinitely in front of her. But in the pretty-yet-gritty Displacement, Lucy takes her two 90 year-old grandparents out on a cruise. It explores ageism, mortality and life-long love in gorgeous watercolors, all bookended in a small WWII biography from Lucy's grandfather's journals.

So join Lucy in conversation with Marie Anello from The Absolute, at 7pm on January 12th and get a copy of the fully watercolored Displacement before it is out in stores. Buy a copy of Displacement or a $15 Strand gift card in order to attend this event. All options admit one person. Please note that payment is required for all online event orders at the time of checkout. The event will be located in the Strand's 3rd floor Rare Book Room at the store at 828 Broadway at 12th Street.
