New York, NY – Visual poetry is often description as the intersection of word play and art. But whether you approach the medium as a poet or an artist, the renderings are often moving, playful, and linguistically creative. Because this form of poetry IS visual, there's no better way to experience it than through the latest exhibition at the AC Institute in NYC. The exhibition, titled "The Future is Here Again" will run from January 22nd-Februrary 7th, but this opening night reception will feature music from the alternative chamber music string trio, Speed Bump.
Currated by ACI director, Holly Crawford and The Last Vispo editor Nico Vassilakis, the event will feature dozens of artists and their works that were previously featured in the seminal visual poetry books Coldfront, and The Last Vispo Anthology: Visual Poetry 1998-2008.
The reception begins at 6 PM.
