Dear friends, as you know we are running a Kickstarter campaign through the month of November (ending December 5th) and have been absolutely swept away by your show of support for Fantagraphics. We are so very grateful that you believe in excellent comics and graphic novels. We are, as you might have seen via Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, Instagram or our Flog, updating many of the premiums with more copies of signed books So much so that we arm-wrestled all the cartoonists (and won, you guys should never challenge Gary) and have added MORE signed books to our list of premiums.
We have added more of the following signed books: Sock Monkey, BUMF, Peanuts Vol. 20, The Love Bunglers, Luba and Her Family, Buddy Buys a Dump, How To Be Happy, Megahex, Hip Hop Family Tree, witzend collection, Uncle Scrooge and Donald Duck: The Son of the Sun, sketched Sock Monkeys too.
(not final cover)
Now cartoonist Graham Chaffee has offered one of the most undeniably-fucking-rad-ass premiums that has yet to be picked up. A $500 tattoo from Chaffee himself, owner of the Purple Panther Tattoo in Hollywood, CA. Obviously, someone heading out there soon or a local should snap this up and here's a few examples of Chaffee's excellent work. I'm getting a few tats this February from the man himself so you'll have to let me know how his chair-side manner is (po-lite!).
We've also created a RETAILER exclusive. Three sets of the FBI Mini Comics Library for the cost of one normally (on the Kickstarter). All you need do is present your retailer number during the survey we send out at the end of campaign. 34 beautiful saddle-stapled comics started as a pet project by Kim Thompson himself, you get a little Jaime Hernandez, Graham Chaffee, Ulli Lust, Nicholas Mahler and much more.
A few clarifications are also in order: the employee-drawn portraits are just that, they are drawn by our staffers, not Fantagraphics' cartoonists. Now, we have some mighty talented hands on board though so unless you specifically want a stick figure with boobs, you'll get something pretty damn charming. Same for the Custom Chucks – employees will be designing and painting on Converse sneakers just for you! The Gary Panter custom chucks are hello, yes done by Gary Panter.
We are looking into digital rewards!
