Visit the Mort Gerberg Comics exhibition at the New-York Historical Society Museum & Library. Artist Mort Gerberg grew up with a pencil in his hand, creating cartoons from the time he was a young boy in his native Brooklyn. Illustrated with a sensitivity and humor that have made him beloved by his audiences, his work has been featured in major publications, including the New Yorker and Saturday Review. The 100 cartoons on view in this exhibition cover a range of topics, such as life in New York City, women, youth, old age, and politics. The exhibition will run through May 5th.

Jaime Hernandez is the co-creator of the acclaimed alternative comic book series, Love and Rockets, along with his brothers, Gilbert and Mario. Published since 1982, the series is recognized for its trailblazing portrayals of realistic Latina characters. His work has also appeared in DC Comics and The New Yorker. Jaime will be discussing his work as part of the Indiana University Mexico Remixed Festival at Buskirk-Chumley Theater.

Mary Fleener will be discussing her upcoming book BILLIE THE BEE at San Diego Comic Fest, at the Four Points Sheraton on March 7th. A native of Los Angeles, California, Mary has had a varied career in underground comics, illustration, and fine art painting.
