Join Lillstreet Gallery for an immersive book launch and signing. In this collaborative exhibition, We Ate Wonderbread, a book launch party with Nicole Hollander, meets Eccentric Objects on Elegant Tables, a collaborative show between Hollander and furniture maker, Barbara Bejna.
We Ate Wonderbread
We Ate Wonderbread is cartoonist Nicole Hollander’s first illustrated memoir. Her graphic novel is filled with childhood stories of eccentric neighbors in a memorable neighborhood that has since been swallowed up by the Congress Expressway. To immerse visitors into Hollander’s process, the exhibition includes draft pages from We Ate Wonderbread with comments made by editor, June Huitt.
Eccentric Objects on Elegant Tables
Experience cello players charmed by an evil-bunny snake, bobblehead Shriners at sea, and more. In this collaboration, Nicole Hollander’s quirky characters exist as 3D sculptural objects, all found and repurposed by Hollander. The characters are set off to their humorous advantage when displayed on elegant tables created by furniture maker, Barbara Bejna.
