A few years ago for Christmas, Mrs. Flog bought for me via eBay a collection of a half-dozen Christmas cards created and sent by Gasoline Alley creator Frank King to a longtime friend between 1952-1961. Yes, I have the greatest wife ever. Anyway, I thought I would share them, because King really went all out on his cards. Spiegelman sketchbook in McSweeney’s
I got my sub copy of the new McSweeney's (#27) in the mail this week and it's a beautiful three-volume paperback boxed set. One of the books is a reproduction of a recent Art Spiegelman Moleskine sketchbook. I'm surprised I've heard nothing about this in advance… I've barely cracked the issue yet but am eager to dive in…

Opening tonight at Grass Hut in Portland, OR, a show from the artists of Yosemite Studios– Souther Salazar, Seonna Hong, Mark Todd, Martin Rich, and Esther Pearl Watson. If you like that Mark Todd "Captain America" piece you have to see the Secret Headquarters show in L.A. where Todd does interpretations of old Marvel comics covers. Awesome work.

Moriarity’s Paper Dolls Movie Poster
Just got word from Pat Moriarity about this 'terrifying psychological thriller' involving Sasquatch. Paper Dolls "has won some awards and is scary!" he tells me. Pat, you had me at terrifying Sasquatch! It will be showing in Seattle on Tuesday, June 10th. 8:00 pm at the Jewel Box Theater. (The Rendezvous) Pat and the film makers will be there. Above is, of course, his EC comics style poster art.
